Today's show reminded me that love is often spelled with one simple word.
Presence.
Here are a few moments that really stayed with me.
💗 The Surprise She Never Saw Coming
Megan was walking toward the starting line of a breast cancer fundraiser.
She was nervous.
Would anyone actually come?
As she got closer, she noticed a sea of matching pink shirts.
More than 200 of her current and former high school students had shown up.
So had fellow teachers.
The shirts featured Megan's picture and one message:
"We're going to beat this together."
Sometimes the greatest gift you can give someone isn't advice.
It's simply showing up.
👦👴 An Unlikely Best Friend
Three-year-old Emmett wandered into his 89-year-old neighbor Erling's yard.
That first conversation turned into a daily routine.
They played catch.
Talked about fishing.
Shared stories.
When winter arrived, Erling didn't let the friendship end.
He cleared a path through the snow from his house to Emmett's so his little buddy could keep visiting.
One was just beginning life.
The other had lived through World War II.
Both needed each other.
❤️ Everybody Matters
Jesus could have chosen wealth.
Influence.
Power.
Instead, He chose a humble beginning.
He spent His life reaching people others ignored.
The poor.
The outsider.
The lonely.
The forgotten.
His message was clear.
Everybody matters to God.
That means everybody should matter to us.
🙏 The Missing Part of an Apology
A real apology has three parts.
"I'm sorry."
"It was my fault."
And the part we often skip...
"What can I do to make it right?"
That final question moves an apology from words...
To action.
📱 Put the Phone Down
Simon Sinek shared something that hit me.
When we put our phone on the table during dinner or a conversation, we're silently saying,
"Something else might be more important than you."
Real love looks people in the eye.
Real connection happens when we put distractions away.
The people in front of us deserve our full attention.
✝️ Bring Them to Jesus
Some friends brought a man who was deaf to Jesus.
They couldn't heal him.
But they knew who could.
Sometimes you feel helpless watching someone you love struggle.
Remember this.
You don't have to have all the answers.
You can always bring them to Jesus.
That's where hope begins.
🙌 Final Thought
Loving people doesn't always require a grand gesture.
Sometimes it looks like showing up.
Listening.
Putting your phone away.
Saying you're sorry.
Praying for a friend.
The little things often become the biggest things.
Just ask Jesus.
